The Red Event 23’ Was An Amazing Day!
As a non-profit leader, there is a lot of fundraising to do and many events to plan. I came to the realization that we plan many events to raise money and awareness to help women with cancer, but we had never put on an event for women that had ever heard the words "You Have Cancer!"
What an amazing day!!
On April 22nd, 2023, we held the 1st annual RED Event. The goal of this event was to bring women together and restore, empower and dazzle them. The day started with a ton of energy from Melanie from Pulse FM. She inspired the audience with the story of her cancer journey and awarded the longest-living survivor a gift at the end of her talk. We then did a fun exercise where we asked the women to go around the room and take as many selfies as they could with other women. The winner took a total of 42 selfies. It was a great way to break the ice. Natalie from KPS Essentials shared her mission of organic skincare and the importance of self-care. Crystal from the Live Strong Program got us up and moving to keep our blood pumping with a few moves that she uses in her classes. We had 10 breakout rooms that were enriching and educational. Each attendee had the ability to attend 2 breakout sessions. While lunch was being served the attendees were treated to a fashion show put on by Trashy T's by Tracey and Studio 1 boutique. The show was fun and very uplifting. We ended the day with myself delivering a powerful and entertaining keynote talk that motivated the attendees to make 2 millimeter shifts to love the life that they are living. The day was inspiring and the energy was amazing It was full of love and support!!!
