The Red Event 24’ - The Energy Was Unstoppable!
As a non-profit leader, fundraising is a big part of what we do to serve women with cancer. I never wanted to be an event planner, but here I am, killing it if I do say so myself!!! The RED Event was my vision to put on an event for ANY woman who had ever heard the words "You Have Cancer"
What an amazing day!!
As a cancer survivor myself, I realized that hearing those words is a life-changing experience. It can also dim the light that shines inside of you. I wanted to create an event that would turn that light back on. I wanted an empowering event where women could feel inspired and uplifted.
The room was electric from the moment the doors opened. The energy was unstoppable. Music like "Uptown Funk" and I Got A Feeling playing made it hard to stand still and not bop along.
The breakout sessions encouraged caregivers, supports and these amazing cancer survivors. The attendees learned that there is no right way to journal, there is life after cancer and the "dreadful" can be a very positive word.
Trashy T'z by Tracy brought fun and fashion to our lunchtime entertainment. Melanie Bizoe from WFRN kept the party going all day long. Tess Scott, our keynote speaker shared her thoughts on Finding Hope in the Freak Show of Life.
What an incredible day to remember. We can't wait until next year!!!!
